I am so excited to start my third year at Creekside!
I received my undergraduate degree in Business Tourism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I also spent a year studying English Literature and Shakespeare at Imperial College in London. After college, I moved to Los Angeles and worked at the corporate office for Hilton Hotels. I worked in public relations and marketing and loved being able to travel around the world for work. After five years, I realized that although I love to travel, I wanted a career working with children (I was a summer camp counselor for six years during high school and college).
In 2011, I graduated with my multiple subjects credential and Masters in Education from the University of Southern California. Since graduating, I have worked at Odyssey Charter School in Pasadena, CA. I was a 3rd and 4th grade teacher in a multi-age classroom. While at Odyssey I was fortunate to attend Columbia's Teacher's College professional development in Reader's and Writer's Workshop and LOVE using the workshop model in my classroom.
Two years ago my husband and I relocated to the East Bay from Los Angeles for his job in engineering. We have a 3 year old daughter named Claire and just had our second baby (Emily) this past June!
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling (and writing about traveling), cooking, running, swimming, yoga, spinning, gardening, and trying new restaurants in the Bay Area.
